One of a series of scenes that I have viewed when walking past windows in my neighbourhood. Simpson St, 6pm on a wintry evening.  An elderly couple in their pyjamas, surrounded by books.  So much to read, so little time.

I painted this picture a few years ago.  The elderly couple has gone, the house lies empty.
